Construction Project Management System with Client Portal
A construction company website joined to a project-controls system for projects, tasks, BOQ, daily site progress, attendance, equipment, materials, procurement, expenses, invoices and variations, plus a client portal where owners follow progress and approve variations.
The Challenge Solved
Construction firms track sites through phone calls, paper daily reports and spreadsheets: managers find out late that a project is slipping or over budget, materials run out on site, variations and payment certificates get lost between site and office, and clients keep calling to ask how their building is going.
Demonstrated with Vertex Construction, a fictional general contractor in Bangladesh running 15 projects worth ৳1,250 crore across commercial towers, housing, factories, hospitals, hotels and roads.
For the public: a company website with a featured project portfolio and case studies, eight sectors, eight service lines, the five-stage delivery process, safety and quality figures, sustainability, careers, news and a project consultation request form.
For clients: a client portal (in English or Bangla) where the owner sees each project's progress against plan, contract value, invoiced, paid and outstanding amounts, and the next milestone. They follow approved site reports and daily progress, approve or reject variation orders with their cost and time impact, download shared documents, view invoices and message the project team.
Seven roles:
- The Administrator sees everything.
- The Project Manager runs their own projects: tasks, timeline, BOQ, progress, site reports, documents, procurement, expenses, invoices and variations.
- The Site Engineer handles daily progress, site reports, attendance, equipment and materials for their site.
- Procurement handles materials, purchase requests, purchase orders and contractors.
- The Accountant handles expenses, invoices, variations and clients.
- HR handles employees, sites and attendance.
- The Client has their own portal.
For the company: an executive dashboard with active projects, projects at risk, contract value, budget used, completion, pending procurement and overdue receivables, plus Ctrl+K search. Each project has its own workspace with health scores for schedule, budget, procurement, safety and quality, a lifecycle from planning to handover, and tabs for timeline, tasks, BOQ, variations, materials, procurement, progress, attendance, equipment, expenses, invoices, documents and reports. Across the portfolio there is:
