School Management System with Student & Parent Portals
A school website with online admissions, joined to a full school management system and separate portals for administrators, teachers, students, parents, counsellors and accountants: timetable, attendance, assignments, exams, results, fees and messaging.
The Challenge Solved
Schools juggle admissions in spreadsheets, attendance on paper, results in separate files and fees in a ledger, while parents chase teachers on the phone for updates. Everyone needs the same information, but each role needs to see a different slice of it.
Demonstrated with Northbridge Academy, a fictional Nursery to Grade 12 school in Dhaka with 105 students, 25 teachers and eight programmes. Fees show in BDT or USD.
For families: a school website covering about, academics, programmes, courses, faculty, campus, gallery, news and an events calendar with registration. A seven-step online admission form takes student details, academic background, programme, guardian, documents, review and declaration, and families can save a draft.
Six roles, six portals:
- The Administrator runs the whole academy.
- Teachers see today's lessons, take registers, set and grade assignments, schedule exams and publish results.
- Students see their timetable, courses, assignments with file submission, attendance, exams, GPA and report card, and fee statement.
- Parents switch between their children to follow attendance, results, homework, the timetable and fees.
- The Counsellor works the admissions pipeline and interviews.
- The Accountant tracks billing, collections and overdue accounts.
For the school: a dashboard and analytics for enrolment, admissions, attendance, fee collection and GPA. Admissions move from review to interview, offer and waitlist, and approving an application creates the student record, guardian account and course enrolments. The academic side covers departments, programmes, courses, classes, subjects and enrolments, plus a weekly timetable that checks for teacher, room and class clashes. Teaching covers attendance with at-risk students, assignments, an exam schedule with clash detection, results with GPA distribution and controlled publishing, and course materials. Fees cover fee structures, invoices, payments by card, mobile wallet or at the office, and overdue tracking. Eight reports export to CSV or PDF. Communication runs through announcements, events, news, private messages and a media library, with academy-wide settings for the term, thresholds and admissions.
